Wait a moment…

I remember seeing some film industry bod on the TV recently saying that the new RealD 3d stuff was great because it couldn’t be recorded in the cinema by the audience.

However, the thought just struct me: according to wikipedia, this RealD technology is basically using two differently circularly polarised filters on each eye. Surely, if one wished to, simply placing a standard camera circular polarising filter over the recording apparatus would defeat this "protection" and yield one eye’s worth of frames. I’m not interested in this myself, but the thought just struck me.
